We are delighted to advertise the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

Harvills Hawthorn is a very successful primary school.  The calibre of its staff is high and we have a continual drive to raise standards.  Our most recent Ofsted (May 2013) judged the school ‘Outstanding’.

The Governors are eager to appoint a HLTA who is passionate about ‘making a difference’ to the lives of our pupils.

 

The successful applicant will need to: 

  • Have a relevant HLTA qualification and good literacy and numeracy skills. 
  • Have a working knowledge of the national curriculum to support and extend learning under the direction of the class teacher. 
  • Have high standards and present as a positive role model for pupils. 
  • Have a positive attitude and be able to work as part of a successful and supportive team. 
  • Be able to show initiative when required. 
  • Have experience of leading and covering a class following planning provided by the class teacher.
  • Have experience of working with primary aged children to support their learning and wellbeing.
  • Be able to work intensively with a pupil who needs substantial support with both their learning and social development. 
  • Have an inclusive approach to working which enables children to be involved in the life of their class. 
  • Experience working with children who have complex learning needs such as ASD and Autism is desirable. What is essential is a passion to work with children to develop their academic and social skills to their full potential and a determination to do this even if there are difficulties and setbacks. Working one to one with a child is a skilled role that needs patience, commitment and the ability to take pleasure in small steps in learning. 
  • Liaise well with parents/carers to build positive relationships. 
  • Be willing to develop their own skills through participation in training opportunities.

Harvills Hawthorn Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly dedicated Cleaner to support the site team. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, efficient Cleaner to work as part of the cleaning team. Experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given. This is a great opportunity to work with forward thinking staff and be part of a passionate enthusiastic team.
